The Year 10 students have had a wonderful trip away visiting Avondale College, Cooranbong learning more about future opportunities and careers. Here are some highlights:
“Students were a little early for their tour at the CSIRO so they ducked up to the Black Mountain look-outs (near the Telstra tower). They then went to the CSIRO Discovery Center where they completed some activities and explored the exhibition and learnt about potential careers. As a bonus they were able to hold the stick insects from one of the exhibitions!”
“Today we went around to all the different faculties at Avondale College including Music, Health and Physical Education, Business, Arts, Outdoor recreation, Ministry and Theology, Science and Nursing (plus many more). A highlight of the Nursing presentation included students being given the opportunity to practice giving a needle to a pseudo leg.”
“The last two days have been packed full of fun and adventure for the Year 10 students. On Friday evening students attended Salt (a worship service run by college students – featuring Eden, a Henderson College graduate).
Students attended College Church on Saturday morning followed by a walk to the Swing Bridge, one of the iconic locations on campus. After that we ventured to Catherine Hill Beach for a few hours. We then headed to Warner’s Bay for sunset, then dinner and ice cream.”
