Parliament in Schools

Yesterday our Year 5/6 students had the privilege of meeting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Milton Dick MP and Member for Mallee, Dr. Anne Webster MP.Their visit was both educational and engaging, offering students a deeper insight into Australia’s parliamentary system. We even learned an interesting historical fact - the first official mace of the Australian Parliament was stolen and is still rumoured to be hidden under the floorboards of a pub in Melbourne! The students had a fantastic time dressing up and participating in discussions, making it an unforgettable experience for all involved.
