A core part of our curriculum at Henderson College is our innovative student leadership model. We aim to develop leadership skills in students from Year 3 up to Year 10.
School Captains (High School) and Prefects (Primary School) are chosen after a robust application and interview process. The Captains and Prefects work as part of a wider leadership team to oversee spiritual, social and fundraising activities at the school.
The SRC are made up of two representatives from each year level from Years 3-10. Each class votes on two representatives from each year level. The SRC is run by the School Captains and Prefects, along with a teacher mentor.
Each house elects their captains and vice-captains at the start of the year.
Henderson College runs a Buddies Program for students across all year levels in the Primary school. Students’ are vertically grouped across the Primary school with a Year 5/6 student acting as the leader during a weekly 20 min combined activity.
Each year, a selection of our school leaders to go on a training course with GRIP- an independent values-driven organisation that trains and develops school leaders.
