Learning is a lifelong pursuit. The learning environment at Henderson College is designed to be respectful, inspirational, vibrant and engaging. Our aim is to encourage students to develop a love, passion and curiosity for learning that goes beyond the classroom.

Ferry Joel
Our aim is to encourage students to develop a love, passion and curiosity for learning that goes beyond the classroom.

In Years 7 and 8 the curriculum is structured to transition students from primary to secondary level with a focus on students developing emotional, physical, spiritual and academic needs. Students are encouraged to think critically, to create, make and engage with a broad curriculum.

The comprehensive curriculum at Years 9 and 10 responds to the developmental needs of students through a range of co-curricular activities as well as a varied academic program. Students are able to choose electives in Year 9 which gives them a wider choice in their own education. All Year 9 students take part in an outdoor challenge program and all Year 10 students have an opportunity to take part in an overseas Mission trip.

In Year 10, students begin to choose options and pathways for higher levels of study. Students are encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning and learn skills to navigate their way through the inevitable greater workload.

At Henderson College Secondary we believe that each one of our students is unique, and created and loved by God. Therefore we endeavour to meet their individual needs, not just for academic learning but for their overall character and development of life skills.

We look forward to hearing from you and hope that we can assist you in making this important decision for your child’s future.

Yours sincerely,

Mr Joel Ferry,
Henderson College Secondary Coordinator
