Outdoor Education Camp - High School

Published on Thursday 01 August, 2024

High School students had such a rewarding experience on camp last week.

They started out by mountain biking in Mount Remarkable National Park. Some highlights were chasing kangaroos and emus on the track, learning how to read a trail map and learning that the down is always worth the up. Safe to say the learners were spent when they were all asleep on the move to Whyalla.

The students set up camp in some crazy winds and had to problem solve pegging the tents down into a hard surface. They learnt about the fish that got away when it jumped off the hook and cooking dinner on the beach. Exploring the Whyalla Jetty under lights before having worship at the look out was special.

The Outdoor Ed crew learnt about giant cuttlefish before jumping in the water and checking out a whole new world beneath the surface. Highlights included seeing cuttlefish, dolphins and a big ray. Plenty of fishing stories had by all!
